Just a newbie question on the Rpod water heater.
Does the water heater work when connected to city water or does it only work when using the fresh water tank or both? Thanks.

When connected to city water just make sure you connect to the water first so there is water in the heater tank, then turn the switch on and it will work.

Yup. Run the hot water tap until water flows through. Once flowing, the hot water tank is full and you can turn the heater on. DO NOT TURN IT ON BEFORE FULL!! You'll kill the element.

You'll also lose 6 gallons from your fresh water tank if you don't fill the water heater at home first. That's a big hit if you want the water to last over a weekend.
