No way!  I spent my entire summers there as a kid - and learned how to swim there too!  25-35 years ago.  My parent's house is about 5 miles away.  From what I've heard they've made a lot of changes since I was last there.  The place was almost sold off to developers a few years ago but I don't remember how they worked it out to keep it open.  Certainly not for lack of income, I just think the land is worth too much now.

Small world stuff, Doug!

I have lots of memories of freezing cold early morning swim lessons and hunting crawdads and salamanders in the pond. I think by the time you were there we had "graduated" to jumping off of and swimming below the little dam at Loch Raven Reservoir and rafting down the Gunpowder after a big rain!

I must pay a visit there soon!

Yup, we did a lot of fishing in that little pond, too.  Did lots of tubing down the Gunpowder, and still kayak it.  If you come around as always my driveway is open with almost full hookups (you have to move the pod or use a really long sewer hose to dump).

Tubing?! We couldn't afford tubes, but Sunny's Surplus in Towson had blow-up mattresses for $2.00! Approve

LOL

If Doug is talking about the same fish I remember in that pond, they were like 2"-3" sunnies! I think I tried stocking an aquarium with them.

fred

Edit: My sister just reminded me. I put them in the same bowl as my goldfish. Experiment failed, but I never stopped trying!

I miss Sunny's.  The original version, not the modern retail version which didn't last that long.

Yeah, those fish would have been good for bait.
