This is how I modified the dinette sleeping system in my 2015 179:
In my unit the table was exactly 1" higher than the slide out surface, and 3" higher than the benches at the ends. I leveled things by up cutting pieces to fit from solid closed cell foam panels sold at home depot or lowes. This can support you but add practically no weight.
Now that everything is the same level, I made a new bench cushion that simply unfolds into a mattress covering the entire area (48"x75"). I ordered foam from one of the online stores that sells custom sizes, my mattress is 3.25" thick. This is a pic of the unfolded mattress. My wife sewed this cover which helps keep to two sides together at night. -the sewing was the biggest part of this podmod.
During the day the mattress is folded over like this-
We also made a vinyl cover for it, but we are still working on making covers for the 3" tall foam risers on each end of the table-
This uses the full sleeping space, it is easy to switch and there is nothing to stow. The dinette sleeping area these models come with is a joke, -it would not cost FR more than a couple hundred if even that to ship units like this....
