In my 179 the Jensen TV has a big sticker on the screen saying it is 12v.
There is only an AC cord going to it and I see NO place to connect 12V.
WTH?
Does anyone else have this?  Sticker on back of TV says JE1914-  no manual was included with the r-pod and I haven't been able to find one onlineAngry

This should be what you're looking for:

Thanks, yeah I eventually found the same manual although it makes no mention of power sources.  Jensen sells an accessory kit for my model that includes the remote and a DC power cord.  A DC power cord for an AC only TV?? Confused

There is no mention of this model TV in their sales literature.

When we were shopping we saw the sticker on it that said "12v DC-Perfect for dry camping"  which is 99% of our camping!

I hope other 179 owners will comment on what is in theirs.

Was that sticker on your TV or in one you looked at?
I think you need to have a conversation with your dealer and get it exchanged.

It is on our actual tv.
I may try to call the dealer Monday and see what they say- from there I'm on to contacting Forest River.
It might be interesting to contact Jensen and see what they say since they made it and put the sticker on it.

I'm betting FR will say "specifications subject to change without notice", but the since the television SAYS it is 12v right there on it that would be hard to justify.

Our Jensen TV in our 181g has the 12v plug and we have the outlets for it standard as well.  Probably that same TV.

Why only the 18xg models have standard 12 outlets and stuff is beyond me though.

Jensen responded promptly yesterday stating the television is not 12v and the picture of the accessory pack with the DC power cord is "generic", there is in fact no DC cord in it.

They did ask for pics of the tv with the 12V sticker and the model/serial number- we'll see where that goes.

Puzzling why FR would use a tv that is not 12V when it is connected to an entertainment center that is 12V Thumbs Down

The TVs are installed by the dealer, not FR.  Part of the final prep.  Most PNW dealers install them just before you take delivery.  They are a big theft item for trailers sitting on a lot.

I have a model 179.  My Jensen is not 12v.  Also, there are no 12v sockets to be had in the 179

You aren't the only one wondering, here's a post I made on the Wish List back in 2009 asking basically the same question.  http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=879&title=change-the-tv-to-a-12v-dc-model
