Outbound, You have the winning answer!! I will be headed to the hardware store tomorrow to get the supplies to make that mod!
What a great idea. That's one of the things that I like about this forum, great ideas.

^^^^^  I've been saying I need to do this every fall when I winterize, for 5 years now.  Maybe this year!  My popup had valves on the low point drains, so much easier.

I went to Lowes.  Bought some little brass adapters and some brass shutoff valves, all threaded.  Some teflon tape and 10 minutes work and they were good to go.  And, never again do I have to fiddle around trying to take those plastic caps off.

I replaced mine with brass caps - they are available at most hardware stores - mine were from Home Depot.  Teflon tape on the threads.

I have never looked but it is a standard fitting size so you might be able to find them at a plumbing supply store.

Where can these be sourced from? They look easily lost, so I thought that I'd pick up a couple of spares. Anyone put a lanyard on theirs?
