We have our two younger kids (8&4) on the dinette with sleeping bags. I did put a waterproof mattress pad and fitted sheet over the cushions for protection. No topper for them as they are small and lightweight. Our teen is sleeping on the floor on a camping mat. In front of the fridge might be a good spot for a dog - out of the doorway and access to toilet.

We have had our 178 for about a month, and I love it, we downsized from a larger hybrid travel trailer now that our four kids are older and no longer want to camp with dear old mom and dad. This July we are taking the pod down to Florida to visit our son who is in the Marines, and the other three kids want to see their brother of course, so we will be squeezing as many of us as we can in the pod and drawing straws for the tent.

David, welcome to the world of podding.  Did you get your pod at travel-mor, that's where we got ours.  Try Murphy's Point Prov. park.  pull through sites, just south of Perth about 10min.  We will be there this Saturday coming home Wed.  Its close by really nice park, also try Charleston Lake prov. park no pull throughs but again nice park with lots of hiking.

Thanks Outbound.  I'll give it a try.

BTW, I will be driving past Oshawa en route to Scarborough for the Robbie Soccer Tournament in Scarborough next weekend sans R-Pod.

I'll give you a wave from the 401!

I put a square dog bed (which by fluke is an exact fit) under the table for my border collie.  She likes the enclosed space and will sit there while we're moving around in the trailer.  The dog bed has a bonus of being a warm spot to put bare feet while eating breakfast.

As you say, when the table is used as a bunk, there isn't enough room.  My dog tends to curl up at the r-pod's door or right in front of the queen bed.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I forgot to mention that we also have the almost obligatory 2-year old Golden Retriever (Lily).  I was going to have her sleep where the table goes but that won't work when we use the dinette as a bed for our daughter.  I guess we will have to follow everyone else's lead and step over Lily in the middle of the night.

(Bodie55 - maybe you can help me decide whether a sleeping bag works best on the dinette bed, or whether an extra foam pad and/or sheets and a blanket would work?)

Anyway, we have picked Voyageur Provincial Park, half-way to Montreal, as our first test in the middle of July.  Nice easy 1-hour drive on a 4-lane highway so everyone can pass me.  And a pull-through camping site with electricity so that I don't have to back in (and have Liz wave frantically at me as I do so!) and can test out all the features of the R-Pod.

Cheers,

David
