I have an even earlier 171 Custom ordered from Forest River with the white Cabinets. We bought off the plans never seen a 171 before we took delivery. I'm glad not to have the slide but we spend most of the time outside anyway. Sometimes wished the bed was up front and they had the table in the rear (Like the MPG Models did) but its great for the 2 of us. |

I agree about swapping the table and bed.

The bathroom is tiny for me....but I did manage to "comfortably" squeeze in and had just enough room to use the shower this past weekend while camping....from a former tent camper...having a shower is an AMAZING change for us lol. We really use the toilet for emergency use only; primarily for my wife and son....it’s nice to have it even with our strict #1 only rule, less those emergency situations. |

I am at the stage in life where I need to go at 2AM (sometimes 3). No rules in our Pod. We use it when and how it works for us. That is why we bought it.

I too am a geezer and used to get up in the dark to relieve myself. This is not the forum to discuss this but personally I suggest you see a Urologist who will prescribe meds to aleviate this concern. Aging is, what it is. Better than the alternative. For all of you young bucks, take a lesson. Your next. Safe Travels.

Or just use the head in the pod as it was designed.

LOVE my bathroom in Pod. Better than a tent. Had Large motor coaches too. When boon docking I only use it for closet. But full hookups, the small size just fits my needs.\
You are so funny!.. sitting on a cushion to look into the frig. if it got any bigger it would not be a small unit to haul around. |

I just bought my 171. I specifically wanted NO SLIDE. I have had three rigs with slides and three rigs that had slide leaks at one time or another. My Itasca Diesel Pusher even had slide topper awnings, and it leaked too. My decision to downsize and simplify even had me looking at teardrops.. but I could not go that far. So the 171 was perfect. I am a big guy 6'4". DW is 5"4" we do not live in the camper. We sleep and freshen up. She showers, I go to bathhouse. I have used the bath and it is possible, but not as roomy as the bath house. |

Your reasoning for the 171 is pretty much the same as our's. I can't imagine how the shower can work for you though at 6'4". I'm 6' and I feel like the fantastic fan is going to give me a haircut at the same time.
