Yeah, there was a rumor going around the internet for a while that people were being locked in their campers that way by mischievous bands of green rabid wolves ruled by elves, with instructions on how to modify the mounting bracket to prevent it... but... no.

If you really put some force behind it you can push the door open even with the bar over the door.  I've seen people push them open with one hand even.
