We never had one of those assist bars. Sort of a strange concept coming from a Serro Scotty.

Also, on most floor plans, you can simply open the front window and reach out and flick the assist bar out of the way. Admittedly not on a 179..

That's good to know! Going to try it on ours. I was going to fill the notches on the door side with JB Weld so you couldn't close the handle across the door.

No.. just no. This came up last year. You can just bang the door from the inside and it WILL open.

EDIT: we had several.. maybe 20 podders, attempt this last year, cross section of almost every pod model and year, and nobody couldn't bump the door and get out.

We've read about people getting locked in their campers by someone putting the assist bar in front of your door when you're in the camper. Your only way out is through the egress window. Has anyone come up with some sort of lock you could put on the handle to keep someone from closing it?
