You seem to be confused about the names of things..
You BYPASS the water heater with the 3 valves located on the back of the water heater.
Once you have the water heater bypassed, you go to the water pump, and depending on what system your pod has, you may pull out a line, stick it in the anti freeze bottle, turn ANOTHER valve so it "points at the bottle" line, and turn on the pump, to draw in the anti freeze, or you may have to unscrew the line from the FW holding tank, and screw in a drop line, or, you may not have a factory installed winterization line.
No matter where the WH and pump are, NO cutting is involved.
