Rain-proof window vent

So sorry.  Was thinking you wanted a roof vent.  Side vents make sense.  Safe Travels.

Thanks but my thought was why even worry about some water coming into the shower.  I agree, vent the shower and a side window.

You have to measure and cut to fit.  As with any cutting...measure twice and cut once.  Before you cut the first unit...you may wish to cut it slightly longer than you really need.  Then re-cut to create a better fit.  The unit comes with a paper measuring rule to help size the length of the cut.  I found, before I cut, that the paper rule would have had made a cut too short.  The louvers should be oriented with the opening slots facing downward...otherwise the slots acts as funnels to collect rain water.
The windowmaxx has felt strips to help seal around partially opened windows.
The one problem is that the unit blocks more than 50% of the window opening, this cuts down the ventilation considerably.  However, without window canopies, the Pod can get quite stuffy in a rain, so a windowmaxx allows you to have a window open without having blowing rain getting in.

Window canopies require a straight horizontal area equal to or longer than the window to be sheltered.  However, the Pod roof curves down adjacent to the windows.  So a canopy cannot be installed because the support 'rod' would have to extend out beyond the roof line.

So a windowmaxx is a fair compromise, still much cheaper than a canopy (if it could be installed).
