I have installed them on both my RV and Pod. You may wish to search other websites such as Amazon.com for a lower price. The Camping World price is much higher than I paid 2 years ago. You have to measure and cut to fit. As with any cutting...measure twice and cut once. Before you cut the first unit...you may wish to cut it slightly longer than you really need. Then re-cut to create a better fit. The unit comes with a paper measuring rule to help size the length of the cut. I found, before I cut, that the paper rule would have had made a cut too short. The louvers should be oriented with the opening slots facing downward...otherwise the slots acts as funnels to collect rain water. The windowmaxx has felt strips to help seal around partially opened windows. The one problem is that the unit blocks more than 50% of the window opening, this cuts down the ventilation considerably. However, without window canopies, the Pod can get quite stuffy in a rain, so a windowmaxx allows you to have a window open without having blowing rain getting in. Window canopies require a straight horizontal area equal to or longer than the window to be sheltered. However, the Pod roof curves down adjacent to the windows. So a canopy cannot be installed because the support 'rod' would have to extend out beyond the roof line. So a windowmaxx is a fair compromise, still much cheaper than a canopy (if it could be installed). ------------- TIDALWAVE |

I initially thought about getting a vent also. However, the vent can be opened and if rain does come in, it goes into the shower. And then down the drain. The best I could find was $40 + 9.99 shipping. However, I decided to go with amazon.com at $46.17 with free shipping ... VERY expensive in my view but VERY CRITICAL in keeping air flow going (especially when stored). I decided to byte the bullet and go for it. Thanks for the tip on the install.

Camper Bob, opening the shower vent is a start, but you won't get any cross-ventilation unless the windows are opened some.

Camper Bob, my worry was getting rain water into the dinette area, not the shower. Hence a rain proof vent requirement for the side window. The vent over the shower is great ... MaxxAire roof vents fit over the crank up roof vents. They come in translucent-white and smoky- transparent. They install by drilling and screwing into the flange on the OEM roof vent. No holes into the Pod, per se. I have installed them on my RV and Pod. They are great to have ventilation when it is raining. You have to have gale force winds blowing into the vent to get even a few drops into the Pod. Well, worth the effort to get ventilation when it rains.
