Hi I am going to be a new 180 owner as of next week. I saw a photo of a 180 with a spare tire mounted on the front end next to the propane tanks. Has anyone seen this? Or know where I would find it? Thanks, looking forward to the group!

Glad to have you JanF. You can spend a lot of time on this forum gleaning from others experiences and wisdom. If you do a topic search in the upper right hand corner, you should be able to find what you are looking for.

We don't have the same model as you, but our spare tire is mounted on the front A frame next to the propane tank. We took the regular rear mount and had a welder cut off the bottom trailer hitch shank and weld it to the A frame. He had to move the propane tank forward a couple of inches for the tire to fit. I think we paid the welder $35.
there is a picture in our mods page. enjoy your pod Vann |

Thank you Vann! Is there any way I could ask you to take a close up of the tire mount and propane tank? Great fix!

If you are pulling with a truck you could try putting the spare in the bed of the truck in front of the axle just to keep the extra weight off of the tongue until you figure out if a welded tire mount is the way you want to go. Maybe wait until the warranty is out before doing frame mods.

If you don't or can't weld, maybe something like this???? spare tire mount PS - Be sure to check your bolt spacing and confirm which product will work. I don't remember the spacing on the Pod's rims. |

I am new to the group and just took delivery of my RP 180! So happy to have it and not one negative comment to date. Well worth it in every situation I've encountered!
