Topic: Something a bit larger Posted: 20 Oct 2016 at 5:52pm |
I too wanted a slight upsize from my 177, looking for the same things you are. I ended up getting a Forest River EVO ATS 200rd. It's been rebranded for 2017 as the Sonoma 201rd. I loved my Pod, but we really like the walk around bed and dry bath. The thing that sets this one apart is LARGE rear living windows. A lot of units this size have the bath at the rear and not many windows and I want to see out when I'm camping.

The podders' network is definitely a plus.
So now when I research other campers I also have to find out what the support network is like.
More to think about.

I have stepped away from any orphan trailers. With Evergreen out of business, any product support is going to be iffy. They don't seem to have the network like podders do. We looked very very hard at the Element, the original one. It went OOP and I talked to them and they said it was coming back, and when it did, for a short time, it was just a SOB.

Have done some research on this. I like the quality of Northwood (Nash, Arctic Fox) and related company Outdoors RV (Black Rock, Creekside). Looked at Lance 1995 too but so much money! Know someone with a Rockwood Mini Lite 2104S for sale. Not the same quality as others mentioned but it could do the job.

The Lance and Camplites are both nice and I'm envious. If only I were rich...like SOME of our forum members! |
Is waist deep in debt a kind of rich??

Check out the Camplites by Livinlite, especially if you can find a pre-2015 model. They are all aluminum, including the frame, so no rot or rust. No plywood floor or framing to rot out. The newer ones have some wood cabinet trim, but it's all visible and non structural. Look at the 16 and 21 ft models for something somewhat bigger than a Pod. We did and love it.

It's interesting to go through and see where different manufacturers put their money and where they leave it out.
Any Vibe owners out there with comments?
