...that the swing-out handle next to the door can be flipped all the way over and prevent the door from being opened from the inside? At least it does on our 2010 172.

If you really put some force behind it you can push the door open even with the bar over the door. I've seen people push them open with one hand even.

Yeah, there was a rumor going around the internet for a while that people were being locked in their campers that way by mischievous bands of green rabid wolves ruled by elves, with instructions on how to modify the mounting bracket to prevent it... but... no.

One of our local pod experts, "Pod People," added a piece of metal to the handle mount to prevent this.

Good to know that you can't get locked in! I guess the handle was designed to be installed on either side of a door depending on which side the hinges are on...pretty smart actually.
