Just found this manual in progress. Great idea. I noticed the posting date was 2011. Has there been updates since? Right now I am about as handy with a computer as I am with a tool. Thank you thank you thank you. Bearclaw68

Found your guidelines and followed them exactly. They were perfect! Just needed to take apart the bed to get to the valves.

I just went outside, removed the mattress and plywood and sure enough....there they are!!! thanks. I would recommend to FR they make it much easier for owners to do this each season....but then again, maybe there dealers wouldn't be able to charge $150 and make you tow the R-pod to their dealership.... Its so wonderful there are folks like you out there to help others.....Good evening.

The water heater bypass valves on the 178 are under the bed directly next to the sink. You will have to lift the mattress and remove the screws from the plywood and lift that.

I assumed they would be near the WH, but don't see them near the main turnoff. Perhaps I need to unscrew another panel? I will call FR to find a diagram of their plumbing and details about winterization. Thanks.

The WH bypass valves are directly behind the water heater on all models.
