Re: Item #4 Water pump & water tank (pump location on different models, location of the switch) This addition comes about at the end of a weekend (2 day) trip in our RP177 (2014). We have had various RVs through the years and have never had this happen. I carry minimum water in my tanks, only enough to flush toilets and wash hands, I have never believed in burning gas hauling water around, and plan accordingly when dry camping. Consider a gallon of fresh water weights 8.34 lbs and in the case of our R-pod 177 with 36 gallons full on board that is 300.24 lbs in the rear that is affecting the handling characteristics of the TV. When I was bringing the trailer home I was experiencing considerable bouncing, my TV was a Chevy 1/2 ton with helper springs, it was short distance so I did not use equalizer hitch. When I investigated what was causing the ride I realized the fresh water tank was full to the top, something the previous owner had done, well I promptly drained the tank. Let me get to the topic after arriving at the campsite I hooked up the hose to the city water connection and turned it on and forgot about it, when it came time to leave I recognized that water was leaking out of the tank filler and the tank was full again. Totally perplexed I started to surmise that the factory had done something wrong in the piping. I traced it back to the water pump which has an strainer (not easy to access) which under the maintenance section needs to be cleaned out or will cause low flow and leak back "filling up when hooked up to city water" by the way the strainer was full of construction debris from the factory. Check your strainer! before the inconvenience and $ of the RV garage.

Might want to look through the manuals/paperwork/etc FR included with your pod.
I found several missing in my packet. Fortunately I've found online and printed the missing ones out. One big one- the Schwintek slide system. Would you really want to try to figure out how to manually retract your slide out (without damage) if there was a failure while camping and you had no manual and maybe bad cell coverage so you couldn't grab it online? I didn't think so! Didn't get AC or fridge manuals either.... |

I am perturbed FR did not use a locking cover for the fresh water fill....I have heard of campground pranksters using the unlocked water fill as a place to....well use your imagination picturing a prankster that has drank a LOT of beer ![]() I remember many years ago Myrtle Beach outlawing those scoop out hotel ice machines for the same reason.... |

[Good Day
I have a question is there a list for window and door maintenance tips? The sticker by the door say to check the seals every 90 days. Any suggestions? Thanks Bob The Newbee |

please post the most updated version of the maintnance manual for the 171 thread. every time I click on Doug's post it takes me back to the original post. We have always wanted a manual since purchising our 171 in 2011. Dealer keeps saying the xeroxed copy is all they have and it is not very helpful.
