Wonderful!  I am still curious as to why it would function until you brought the slide in.  From what you describe, the ground was the issue, the painted frame caused it; by running your slide this would not change so is it possible that the left brake blinker never worked in the first place?

Great work, and thanks for the update!

It's so helpful for fellow Podders when the original poster follows up with what worked (and even what didn't work).

There is no reason the turn signmal light wiring needs to go up into the cabin. I would look below where the wires go out to the fender (and below the slide out).

In my 179, the slide wiring is behind the movable panel under the refrigerator.
From your  description, it does sound like  wires are moving and some are shorting out as the slide moves and pulls wire with it

Good luck

+1 That sounds like a ground issue someplace.

Personally I have not, however there are a lot of wires bundled together in the slide area that move back and forth when the slide is activated.  Hopefully you have a voltmeter and can trace the bad wires or physically locate the wire bundle and find which wires have been compromised.  On my 177 the wires are behind a removable panel located under the sink just above the floor and are easily accessible.

I have a 2018 179. With the slide open i have all running/brake/turn signals on both sides. When i close the slide i am losing brake/ turn signals on left side. Anyone seen this problem? Lights usually go out when slide has about 2 inches left before fully closing.
