O.K., my Dometic refrigerator does seem to cool as quickly and well with propane as it does with electricity, whether shore power or battery. This is a reversal of what I previously experienced. I suspect that the propane devices in the fridge need to be cleaned. Anyone out there ever tried to do that themselves? If so, what's the procedure for doing so?

Thanks folks,

It appears that it might have been the beastly hot weather (90+ for several weeks) that was taxing my fridge. and keeping it from cooling adequately at less than four or five dots. It seems to be cooling adequately now on 3 dots; but, it has been cool lately (50's to the low 70's).  I appreciate the links to the instructions.  Checking the burners to see if they are producing a nice blue flame would be in order anyway.  The problem is that my Dometic fridge is a RM 8501 which is laid out differently than those in the video.  I want to remove the plate shielding the burner from the wind but it has a white electrical wire attached to it - which I assume is a ground wire, though it doesn't appear as such in the wiring schematic.  Should I remove the ground to take off the plate?  Also, I can't find the screws that attach the plate to the burner assembly.  The schematic in the Dometic manual doesn't show where those screws might be.

Even at 90+ it should have no problem keeping the interior in the mid-30's.  I believe on my 8501 there was one screw to hold the shield in place, then one screw that held the burner assembly in place.
