Is anyone using a solar panel to maintain the charge on the battery's while there pod is being stored?   I am planning on installing a battery switch so i am just looking at keeping the battery topped off not something to take care of house loads.

Unless it's going to sit for more then 6 months, if you use a cut-off switch, you won't need a maintainer of any kind.

X1 to furpod, if you want to use a solar charger, look at Solargizers, the Army used them for years to maintain batts in the motorpool. Used to be they would give you a Solargizer when they issued the vehicle.

Interesting concept. I never saw one of these during my 26 years in the Army. It might have been something that was being evaluated by select units.

I am using a https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DUUL9W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Marinco BEP battery switch . Installation was eaxy. The hardest part was f\iguring out where to put it. There is a picture of it installed in my mods.

SH,

I first saw them at Fort Hood during the early days of Hummers. Every unit had them, I suppose they were purchased with unit funds, they were pretty available.

As far as battery switches, I use the big red key switch, mounted in a plastic electrical box, mounted on the tongue next to batt. I can turn it on/off and remove the key.
