I am on my first long trip with Lizzy(R 180) The screws are coming out at bottom of slide on both sides. Has anyone else had this problem and did you just try to tighten screws? I think they will just pull out again as slide seems to feel pulling when let out. Thanks

Is this inside or outside? Where exactly are the screws that are pulling out? Do you have pictures? I will be looking at our 179 tomorrow when it is light.

They are pulling out at the bottom of both sides of the slide on the outside. I have watched from the inside while it is sliding and I can not see anything causing it to drag and pull on the screws.

There are three rollers underneath the slide-out. If one of those is sticking, it might be sufficient to cause drag. Someone would need to be looking from outside as well as the inside to see what is happening.

Picking up my 180 next week. Did you get this problem solved? Were the screws coming loose on the slide out, only. Or all around the camper.

On slide out only, bottom of. Both sides. It is at repair shop now and anxious to find out what caused this. Will post when I get it back and find out.

We'll be waiting for your report. So far, I have not noticed anything similar, although it does look like the caulking around the edge of the black liner was done before the liner was pulled tight. It was bowed somewhat in the middle. I have since redone the caulking there and have not noticed any further slippage.

Given that I am going to be 5 hours away from the dealer, this could be a real problem. Thanks.

par49,
Relax. This is likely a rather unique problem. I have not seen any other reports of screws coming out of slides in my reading of the forum. We got our 179 in December and have had 4 big and one small trips with it. We have not encountered any problems with the slide or its operation other than the very minor item noted above.

I think something was hanging up inside as the slide went out as I could hear a pulling noise. I have not heard one else that this has happened to and it is under warranty so not concerned but will post when they get it ready or pick up with what the problem was. They said it would be about 2 weeks. Would not let this stop me from the purchase of one as I love it and things do happen.

Thanks, that's reassuring. Just getting my ducks in a row for the walk through. Enjoy.

The other little thing is I am 5 hours away from the dealership. The nearest one in South by 3 hours. If I am understanding correctly from other posts, dealerships do not have to honor the warranty if the trailer was not purchased from them.

In my limited experience, balking at warranty work comes when there are two or more dealers in town and the vehicle owner buys from the high volume (i.e., CHEAP) dealer, then tries to get the closer dealer to do warranty work, which typically pays less.
I have had problems on the road twice and the RV dealers even moved us to the top, above locals who bought from them. Most will recognize problems on the road can't be avoided....
