Topic: Vandals + My Jeep = $1,200+ Posted: 16 Dec 2009 at 10:03am |
Some jerk walked next to my Jeep in a public parking lot, in the middle of the day, and sprayed paint stripper on the passenger side doors. The insurance estimate was $1,254.33. I'm going to take the money and have the Jeep Line-X'ed top to bottom. Then I won't have to woory about scratches from off roading. Terry The pics were taken right after I noticed it. Now it is just big spots of primer showing.

I feel for you. One day those people will have something nice and someone will do the same thing to them. It stinks what people will do. A while back when i lived in the city there were kids walking down the street slashing tires to the point they were trashed and you had to replace the tire. I think i went through about 10 tires in 4 months. Finally put cameras up in the block to record and it went away.

The parking lot didn't have any security cameras so I checked the stores close by. None of them had cameras that would catch the parking lot. It's too bad because both cops have Jeeps and they were upset to say the least.

Pics are blocked at work, I'll take a look tonight. Over the years I've had my car (or my wife's) broken into 4 times, and a K40 antenna was stolen off the back another time. That can really ruin your week. Even worse is I have a gut feeling that some of those break-ins were due to someone that I called a friend at the time (he showed his true colors eventually).
I feel for you, too.

It is sad that some people have so little regard for others.

Someone smashed my daughter's tail light out during the night while it was parked outside her apartment. It was very obvious that they had used a pipe or bat or something along those lines. No reason, just ignorance and spite. So I can sympathize with you, Terry.
I imagine when you saw your jeep you were thinking very bad things like I was when I saw my daughters car. Things that cannot be repeated here in polite company.
We could trash them good while sitting around the fire at the roundup, though.

What goes around, comes around. Ya just wish you could be there to see it happen to them. Sorry to hear about your problem. Had a motorcycle stolen once, got it back (we were lucky, we found it on the other side of Milwaukee sitting at a bar with a few modifications), after that it felt dirty.

Had my house broken into and cleaned out of most anything that could be carried, not just valuable or electronics. They even ate what was in the refrige. They stole my 1988 Toyota MR2. I was out of town - In PA when I got the call. When I got home I received a call from the local Toyota dealer. A woman turned in my MR2, said her son had it and walked away! Maybe the problem is not just the child's?
