Hi,
Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a 2013 177 and I just returned from my vacation.  For the first time I took a ladder and cleaned the roof.   Where the roof meets the sides there is a hard plastic strip about 1/2 inch wide and I noticed that significant portions of this along the roof (out of sight from the ground) were cracked, and when I touched one of the areas it started to disintegrate.

Has anyone else seen this kind of problem?   Any suggestions for repairs?

Those seals need to be inspected and maintained regularly. We check our each spring and clean and re-seal as needed.

How do you reseal what is essentially a hard tube?

I've seen posts that deal with the silicone sealant around the edges but not the actual plastic structure.

are you talking about the plastic that covers the screws in the channel at the edge of the roof if so you can just pull it out and replace it with new did mine this spring. Just bough it at my local service center. For the outer edge seams and around the windows  I use poly seam seal from Lowes .

Sounds like you are talking about the trim strip/cover. Available in rolls from most any decent RV shop, or online.

Trim Insert.

Ah, yes, that's what it is.   I wasn't sure what those were...I thought they were a major seal.

Ok, something to be concerned about but not the emergency I thought it was.  I'll purchase and fix.

Thanks

Went to replace ours. Remove the bottom front screw only to find it screwed into a rivet that was punched through the trim cover. So how does one get around that? You can't attach the new trim cover without removing the rivet which will never go back in again. How do you all deal with this? Thanks feel free to message me.

Drill out the rivet. Repair, pop new rivet.
