Hi, We just bought a brand new 179Smile
We love it except that there is no venting system for the cooktop. 
What do people do when cooking things like bacon, etc.
Has anyone done any modifications such as adding a vent?

I leave the bathroom fan running, it does a great job of pulling air out.

+1 The fantastic fan will do anything you need, you have to experiment with opening certain windows which will help direct the air flow.

+3, I generally always have my FF running on low when camping. If I was going to do bacon in the POD, I would crank it up for a while...negative air pressure and air exchange is a good thing. Smile

Thanks for the info regarding the bathroom fan. I have a hard time believing that the fan in the bathroom can vent so well considering the cooktop is not exactly in the same "room" as the fan. However, we are taking our Pod out for its maiden voyage next week (Cross Lake MN Federal Campground) so I will definitely give it the old college try. I am also thinking that after awhile, the ceiling will get sooty/grimy from cooking. Any ideas about that?

I agree with you Frankie.  We really never did all that much cooking oil n any of our campers, so it hasn't been a big concern.

Well remember, essentially, are cooking in one small room. If you stumble in the kitchen you a very likely to hit your head on the bathroom door. Wink If splatter is a problem, maybe one of those frying pan screen tops so popular in the 70's will do the trick.
