Hubby and I are set to pick up our 2016 178 on Friday! Very excited. Due to a work schedule change, we can now take it out for its weekend voyage this weekend!
However: 1) due to the late notice, only could get a non-electric site 2) being exclusively tent campers up to this point, have a steep learning curve 3) not much time between picking up the pod and setting up camp for the weekend to pick up supplies and needed items
Looking for some pointers--what we will need for our first time out and what features of the pod we can/cannot use? |
1: Pre cool the fridge, preferably over night. (Try setting the temp on the 4th of 5 lights.)
2: Run the fridge from home on LP gas, works better than 12 Volt. You can lose battery power unless your tow vehicle is wired properly (heavy enough wire).
You can run also run your hot water heater on LP gas with a little battery drain.
Lights of course will work on battery
Your bathroom fan will work on battery
Without 110 volt the microwave and AC nor outlets will not work.
Pay Attention to # 1 and # 2, go easy on the lights and fan and you will be fine.
Good Luck!
PS, if you want coffee don't forget to bring your campfire pot.
