We purchased an RPOD 179 on May 29, 2015. On our first weekend trip, as we were starting the process of getting ready to leave, the refrigerator starting beeping and flashing in 20 second intervals so we consulted our owners manual and did some troubleshooting but nothing worked. We had the refrigerator powered through 120V mode all weekend. Before our next trip we testing the refrigerator at our house for a few hours and it worked fine. On our trip this weekend the refrigerator did the same thing with the beeping and flashing for 20 second intervals. We did some more troubleshooting, checked connections and switches at the campsite connections but nothing helped. We even changed over to propane and the beeping and flashing still came on in the same intervals. Has anyone else had this problem and do you have any advice on how to fix the problem?

The door alarm is the issue. 1st make sure the door is closed all the way. Once you find that it is, the answer is to remove the blue cover from over the interior light, it pops off, then unplug the light and switch monitor cable. Dry it out when you get a chance with canned air or a blow dryer, then put a dab of dielectric grease on the connector and plug it back in.

Same unit, same refrigerator, same problem - service could never "replicate" so never fixed it. It was absolutely maddening. We felt at a complete loss, so angry. Finally, after 5 services for the same issue, and after sending the post here, that linked to a Forest River forum, that we "solved" the problem. Service stated that Dometic required the production number of our fridge, then once known, sent the replacement parts. This was the sensor board in the latching area. It was corroded! We used the fridge for 5 days, and that caused the corrosion? Hmmmm....I think that a recall might be in order!

Welcome. Make sure they take off the aluminum fins to be sure it is sealed behind them.
