2014 RPod. Anyone know if electrical system for lights is set up to pull from 12V battery even when hooked to shore power?
Reason I ask is that when hooked to shore (in my driveway when I'm loading) my lights won't turn on unless battery is connected or trailer is plugged in to my truck. At the same time everything else like a/c, outlets, and microwave are good to go. Either there's a loop/circuit that can't be broken for the lights to work or I have a wiring/converter problem. Best! |

Check all fuses including the two reverse battery high current fuses. The converter has two fuses to protect against battery reversal, even fr an instant. If these are blown the converter will not charge the battery or run any 12V equipment.
NOTE to Techntrek: Am I correct in assuming the battery reversal fuses are electrically between the converter and the 12V distribution panel, i.e, the battery will still supply the 12V accessories even if the two reversal fuses are blown? I no longer have a WFCO to check. |

If when hooked to shore power you don't have 12v, check the breaker to the converter, and then the 2 40A fuses on the 12v panel.

The battery should still power everything even with those fuses blown. The battery just feeds the fuse bus (the smaller fuses).

Ah, yes. Perfect sense. The 40s were blown. Replaced, and now it's perfecto!
