He has the top and bottom valves open parallel to the pipe; and middle valve closed perpendicular to the pipe but no not water yet.

awesome, merry christmas. also keep in mind that the hotwater heater was likely drained (hopefully) and you want to fill it up after the valves are set (turning on hot water tap) until it flows smoothly before you turn the hotwater heater on. where you at in florida? hogone

Good deal...hogone, I have a life long friend in Portland OR that is a HUGE Life Long Pack Fan, so I find this...tolerable.
