We have a 178 that we bought this year. We went out west this summer so WH no problem. We had it winterized this winter but then decided to go to Florida. The water is not getting into the heater we think. We know the valve is under the bed and have found that. Any help?
My husband adds that he found the valve(s) but he can't tell what is what and if they are on or not. Not labeled. Thanks. |

So there are 3 valves top and bottom
Is that 6 valves total? Are only 2 valves parallel to the lines and the third one, the middle closed? Do you have a link to that picture? Is it here on this forum out on the internet in general? Thanks. |

| My husband turned the valves on as he understands it and water started running outside by where the water heater is. He turned it back to where it was and the water is off now> top one on and bottom 2 off. He is not a mechanical guy and I can't physically get to where this is. the picture is nice but he doesn't get it; there are only levers not a circular valve. We can try going to a local camping world tomorrow. Thanks. |

If the water is coming from near the top of the heater, it sounds like maybe the pressure relief valve may be open, its spring loaded and easy to close, just pull the lever over and it will close on its own. If its coming from near the bottom it sounds like the anode rod is out or loose. As far as putting the water heater in bypass or taking it out it really doesn't matter what type of valves you have. One just needs to understand that there is an IN and and OUT on the water heater. If you want to bypass the water heater then turn off those valves so nothing can get IN or OUT of the water heater. You then OPEN the bypass valve (the third one) so you can have water flow without involving the water heater. If you do want to involve the water heater, then reverse things, that is, open the IN and OUT to the water heater and close the bypass so water is forced into the water heater. Good Luck, please let us know how things work out...that's how we learn here.

| He has the top and bottom valves open parallel to the pipe; and middle valve closed perpendicular to the pipe but no not water yet. |

awesome, merry christmas. also keep in mind that the hotwater heater was likely drained (hopefully) and you want to fill it up after the valves are set (turning on hot water tap) until it flows smoothly before you turn the hotwater heater on. where you at in florida? hogone ------------- Jon & Pam 2013 RP177 2023 F150 2017 HD Streetglide CHEESEHEAD |
