The Perfect Camping Trip ..

A "perfect" anything is rare, isn't it?  But this little trip was as close to perfect as it could get.  No exotic destination, just a nice little RV campsite (Gibbons Creek Reservoir) not that far away.  What made it special?  First, it was the "maiden voyage" for our new 171 (not counting the haul when we brought it home from Ohio), and all the equipment worked just about perfectly.  The weather was great (50s-60s), and there was just a handful of people in the park (which only has 17 spaces to begin with).  The R-dome was cozy & fun to have, and even the first experience at the dump station was a non-issue.  TongueAnd, yes, the mattress .. well, everybody knows about RPod mattresses.  'Nuff said.  Its replacement is already on order.

But what capped it all off was that the trip was our 8-year-old granddaughter's very first camping trip. Exploring for rocks, hiking through the woods, making s'mores & toasting marshmallows over the campfire, telling some ghost stories (it was Halloween weekend, after all) ... She just couldn't get that big grin off her face!

I do believe we made some good memories, for her and us.  Here are a few pix ..

A first time camping experience and all that goes with it!  Sounds like that granddaughter of yours is a camper now for life!

Awesome, and great story!

That what makes camping of any kind great, Memories. Just think of what your granddaughter got to see, smell and hear, it will stay with her a lifetime. Great times and even greater memories.

Exactly what we thought, too.  And to think we got to participate in her very first camping experience. What a privilege ..

Thanks ..

Yes Sir, that's what it's all about right there. Sounds like you had a great time and the best part is...you're just getting started. Smile
