We have a 2015 171 pod.  While getting it ready for it's first winter I was taking batteries out of the smoke detector and looking for the carbon monoxide detector.  Am I missing something or does the new model 171 not have a carbon monoxide detector.  I have looked high and low to find nothing but the LP detector, and the smoke alarm.  Is it possible that they don't put one in on some models? Confused

Is the smoke detector by any chance a combination smoke/CO detector?

That is a good question.  I will have to look at it closer.  But it looked like just a small ordinary smoke detector placed on the ceiling right in front of the bed area in the back of the 171.  Had one 9 volt battery in it.

I would not think you can have a carbon monoxide detector in a smoke detector.  The carbon monoxide detector we have in the house is supposed to be placed low on a wall outlet.  Because carbon monoxide is a heavy gas and usually lower to the floor.  The reason for the location is that the outlet height detects the gas in a bedroom before it can do damage to sleeping people.

Actually, there are lots of combo units out there, here is a link just from Home Depot.. Carbon Monoxide mixes readily with the "air" in your home/TT, and cO detectors can be placed at any level. We have a couple, because we heat with wood, and they all said to put them wherever was convenient. We have a plug in one also, and it's "near the floor".. but that is where the outlet is.

Ditto, we have one on each level of our house because of our wood stove, in the standard smoke detector location on the ceiling.
Blue's Pod, on my 171 (remember, each pod is different!), the smoke and CO detectors are above the rear bed.  One is on the ceiling, one is on the wall above the drivers-side window.
