So here's what I'm thinking, in broad terms, without having worked out all the details yet:

1) Add a short section of awning track to the back end of the existing section at the top of the Rpod, so the track extends all the way to the bottom rear.
2) Sew some additional awning track tape to the left side of the Rdome so instead of hanging straight down, the dome follows the contour of the trailer.
3) I'd have to add some additional material to the dome on that side to enable this, otherwise the dome won't touch the ground on that side. However, I'd gain about 3 feet of covered floor right next to the Rpod, and the back window on the Rdome side wouldn't  be half covered.
4) It doesn't look like enough floor area would be gained on the front side of the Rpod to make it worthwhile to make this mod on that end, so the dome would look really lopsided.  But even though I like the Rdome, I have to admit it already looks a bit weird stuck there on the side of the Rpod.

Comments, suggestions? Someone else can go ahead and do this first if they want, ha ha.

SWMBO thinks it's a great idea, so it will probably happen eventually.

Sounds like a good idea.  I don't like how it bisects the window or the storage door on our 171 - your idea would solve that.

sounds like its worth a mock up or photo shop, especially if swmbo is willing to do the sewing. Tongue

Just a thought but maybe if you extended the rdome enough to clear the window but didn't go all the way to the back, you'd accomplish much of what you wanted without giving it that lopsided look.

Speaking of R-Pod domes does anyone have an orange one that they would like to swap for a blue one?  My brain hates blue LOL, weird I know.  Maggie

Going just past the window with the Rdome roof hadn't occured to me. Thanks for the idea, I'll chew on that for a while.

That's the next step, putting the dome up here in the yard and mocking it up to see exactly how goofy it might look. Unfortunately I'm the one who's going to be doing the sewing.
