New from Charlotte, North Carolina area.

Have admired R-Pod campers while camping. We will move up to a larger camper and interested in R-Pod. Currently camping in a LivinLite CampLite 11RD. We call it our aluminum tent with heating & cooling. Have looked at other fiberglass and aluminum campers, too.

Currently trying to learn about floor construction of the R-Pod.  Talked to a dealer today and he told me about wall construction consisting of welded aluminum tube, insulation, laminated together with the outer & inner walls, which sounds good to me. He was not sure about the floor construction.  Have been on Forest River's site, but did not find information about floor construction. The reason I'm interested in floor construction is a past experience we had with floor rot in an A-Frame with wood floor.

Will search threads on this forum. The dealer I talked to today recommended this forum as a great place to find information.

Edit,

Found a thread on this forum, and it sounds like the floor is composite construction similar to the walls.  Also found this info on another dealer's site about the R-Pod: "Welded aluminum sidewalls and floor, laminated sidewalls, floor, and roof"

This sounds good to me and what I was hoping to find.  Looking forward seeing a R-Pod this week!!!

Thanks,
Bill

Yep, having fun looking around here. Will check out a R-Pod later this week @ Lexington NC. They are also known for "great" BBQ in that area.

Thanks,
Bill

Welcome.  The only complaint I have about the construction is the use of particle board under the countertop laminate.
