I have looked and looked because I know that somewhere there was a list of materials for the mod to the electrical area under the street side dinette bench where the electrical area is. I just can't find it. The mod split the bench in 2 to create a storage area in the forward unused space. I really would like to look at the materials list that someone created since I don't like reinventing wheels. I just ain't that creative. Can anyone help? Thanks

I was the one that posted the pictures in Terry's link. I just did it a few months ago, so it should be fresh in my mind. I believe I used a half sheet (4'x4') of 1/4" birch plywood, around 8-10' of 1"x2" pine (which is actually more like 3/4" x  1-1/2"), two cabinet hinges (not the self-closing kind) and a handful of 1-1/2" screws. Have some cardboard handy to create a template for the sides.

That's right. There was sufficient slack in all the wires that you could just move them out of the way. Of course that might vary from pod to pod, so no guarantee. Luckily it's all 12V on that side, so it should be easy to extend without too much worry.

Very good.  Hopefully mine will have the necessary slack as well.  I did look under there once, but then just screwed it back down!  I haven't done alot of  major mods, but this is one that needs to be done.  Thanks.

A shame they didn't keep that storage area from the factory in later years.  My 2010 came that way.  That's a lot of storage to lose!  I also recently discovered a decent chunk of storage behind the false back in the storage compartment under the fridge.  The area is full of water and electrical (at least in my 171) but there's no reason you couldn't store bulky light stuff in there like extra paper towels and toilet paper.

And don't forget about the extra 4-5" of drawer space that's available... or the pocket of space next to the pump that's perfect for storing toilet chemicals... or the empty void above the bed that's perfect for shelving... lets just say there's no shortage of space to store things, but you need to "enable" it first.
