I agree with Keith and Dar. Donna and I stay home on long holiday weekends. We were supposed to go for a two nighter yesterday and today but close to home favorite sites were sold out. We go camping for quiet, outdoors, relaxation, hiking, fishing. nothing wrong with kids ridding bikes and having fun, but Most of my experiences with long weekend holidays seem to be radios blaring, dogs barking, loud exhaust. If I want racket and confusion I will go to the local mall.

I usually do not do holiday camping, but this is the week my sister was able to get off work.  We are heading to Valley of the Rogue State Park, between Grants Pass & Medford, Oregon.  It'll be nice & hot!  We plan to tour the Oregon Caves (it'll be nice & cool inside) and the Great Cats World Park.  Maybe do a run on the Rogue River in a jet boat.

Yellowstone.  Will be first time in a campground as we typically boondock.  Hopefully the grandeur of Yellowstone outweighs the campground experience.

Yellowstone awesome, but even prettier is the Grand Tetons just South. National Park campgrounds are almost boondocking but are around $20/night. No generators allowed at night, but even in July you will need covers at night.. Love the high desert. Niece is Park Ranger in Moose.

We don't like the madness and fight for a site of the holidays either. Have friends with a camp on the Pearl River just South of us in Bush, LA. They invited us to bring our camper down. Offered to put in a 30Amp RV plug... We are going down to hang with great friends and bring the pod.

To the OP: Table Rock is a great park from my memory. Granted, that memory is 25 years old, but I spent much time there as a kid.

We're still pre-podders, but we are heading to Yellowstone as well. It's becoming almost an annual thing!

We usually go to our lake lot on holiday weekends, it's only 15 minutes from our house, but this year we are headed to Florida to visit our son who is in the military. We can't leave until Tuesday afternoon and we have to be back to work the following Monday. That is a whole lot of driving for a short visit but I need to see my kid even if just for a couple of days. We'll spend more time driving than we will camping.

It appears that only Noah will be camping in North/Central GA the next couple of days.  Flood warnings everywhere between now and Friday.  Just gonna keep the camper on high ground.  Have a blessed 4th all!

Yeah, it has been a mess around here lately.  We actually decided to not fight the idiots on the road and the t-storms at the same time this afternoon/evening, and are now heading out very early tomorrow morning.  And our campsite is on the top of a hill, not the bottom!

P & M ... and Comet too!
