anti sway and stabelizers

Picking up our brand new r pod 176t in the morning.  We pull with the hybrid Yukon Denali with  tow and break package.  The rv dealer said the only thing we may need is a 4pt sway/stabelizer.  $750.00 .  Do we need it podders?  we want to be safe but don't want to spend money if we don't have to.  Have had a large pop up for the last few years and didn't need one, but did need on on our old 27 foot aerolite.

You're definitely getting a sales job.  I agree with Terry -- you don't need this immediately.  I've towed a 176 3000+ miles so far (not a whole lot of experience) with an FJ Cruiser and not had a bit of trouble without a WDH or sway control.  Point is, it can be done.  You might be safer or more comfortable with sway control though, but that price seems high.

Jody I also pull with a FJ toyota.  We only have the sway bar control.  We are rated to pull 5000lb and with the sway bar I have no problem what so ever.  But I've pulled our pod without the sway bar once just for a small bit (from dealer to home), and you could feel the difference and now will always put on the sway bar.  For ourselves I don't feel we need the wdh, but yes I would go for the sway bar, if it was me in your shoes.  Happy podding.

I towed the pod for a year and a half without sway control, then one long trip home from the beach with side winds convinced me I needed it for those outlier situations.  Since I was going for sway control I figured I might as well go all the way for WDH.  At the time it was a major improvement for our Sienna which had major sag (I was using air bags which helped but weren't great).  I kept using it with our current TV because it improves the ride quality.
