Just wanted to introduce ourselves.  We purchased our rpod in October 2012.  Because we live in Wyoming, we had to be creative about where we would go on a 2-week vacation without getting stuck in the snow.  Went to Death Valley - had never been there before.  We opened the park - it's only tolerable there in the winter.  We had a wonderful maiden voyage; but like a lot of you, as soon as we returned we had to shut down for the long-hard winter.  We decided to brave it this weekend, because we live so close to Salt Lake City, UT and the weather was going to be marginally good.  When you're desperate you do anything!  It has rained and been overcast, but temps between 45 - 65 - not bad.  We're having a great time.  I just want you to know that I have been reading this forum all winter and really enjoy it.
We're within weeks of retirement and are looking forward to many wonderful trips in our pod.  We're not new to camping - have owned many different types of rigs, but this, we think, is the ultimate size for the two of us and our doggy.

Good to know there are more of us up here. Did you buy yours at Kelelsons ?

During the day Death Valley was hot - 116 degrees.  At night it went down to about 85-90.  Of course, this was in early November.  I was watching the temps at Furnace Creek all winter, and it can get cold at night with highs in the 70s during the day.  The main issue is the humidity - there is none!  It's the most unusual place we've ever been.  We'd like to go back some day.

I haven't been there since I was a kid, but with a two week break at Xmas, it makes sense to go, if freezing isn't a worry. Early November is still Indian summer in CA. We live by SF, so we look forward to the nice weather in Oct and Nov, as summer here is cold and foggy.
