Can anyone tell me where the Electric Converter is located on a R-176.

It is under the fuse panel. If you take the front panel off the fuse panel the Converter is in the area under the breakers and fuses. It at the front of the 176 in front of the bunks by the floor I think.

I forgot to ask. is the battery charger built into the converter?

Yes, it has a good 3-stage battery charger.

Does a 3-stage charger allow you to stay connected to shore power for long periods without boiling your batteries dry?

I am assuming that the chargers would be more/less the same from year to year and model to model. Is this correct?
