This is our fourth day on our six week adventure to the West coast and back.  Currently spending the night in North Souix City.  Interesting, through the hills of NC, TN, and KY gas mileage was 10-11 mpg.  Through the flat land of Iowa gas mileage was 13 - 15 mpg.  2013 177 pulled with a Nissan Pathfinder. We met another camper couple in an R-Pod while camping in Nashville.

Sandcamper,  In Olympic National Park, the beach at Mora near Forks (of Twilight fame) is stunning! Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center at Cape Disappointment is very interesting, and you'ld love the coast of Oregon. Also, wave at me as you go by Ocean Shores, WA. You are really taking a memorable trip that is just packed with stuff to see and enjoy.

Outside of Yellow Stone is Cody, Wyoming.  In Cody, is The Irma Hotel which was once owned by Buffalo Bill Cody, hence the name of the town.  The hotel, won in a card game, was named after his daughter.  Must have lunch there, and have mountain oysters.  Probably will never see them on the menu anywhere else.  "When in Rome," etc.  Also there is a world class western museum.  Not into guns myself, but have one of the finest western exhibits of all kinds there.  Must see the museum.  Safe Travels.

Glad you were there.  Was it at my prompting, or were you already going to the Irma?  Mountain oysters have to be tried once in life.  In spite of the fact where they are grown, if it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger.  Were you able to see the western museum?  Someone spent many millions of dollars to build and equip that museum.  I forgot who the benefactor was, but it was one of the old time NY familys, Astors, Vanderbilts, or someone of that age.  Enjoy the rest of your trip and let us all know of your adventures.  Pictures would really be appreciated.  Safe Travels.

I tried escargot this week, a first.  Not sure if I would try the mountain oysters!  :-)
