Hi folks...

We bought our first camper, a 176T, from Mekkelsen's in Montpelier, VT. In my opinion they are a decent sized dealer for the north east; with ~200 units on the lot, and 20 service bays; although, they do have a small dealer feel being in an older building and no indoor showroom.

I bought the unit, basically sight-unseen, over the phone. I dealt with a combination of a young (late-20's) salesman and an older (late-50's) sales manager. Both were pleasent and willing to work with me; both on the price and on the pickup logistics.

I live over 7 hours from them, (they were my closest dealer with a 176T on the lot) so an out and back trip in one day was pushing it. They prep'd and set up the unit for me, and I arrived after hours to a camper hooked up to electric and water. The next morning, I woke up, went through the checkout, signed the papers, and took her home.

Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend them to anyone in the area. They seem like "good people."

Welcome!  I was about to suggest on your other thread that you review your dealer - you are one step ahead of me.  Sounds like a great dealer to allow you to camp in it before you've even purchased it.

We had the EXACT same experience, in the EXACT same way as yourselves! Additionally, we live about the same distance away and like you, experienced the same courtesy and professionalism!
I hope you enjoy your pod as much as we are! Tongue

We bought our pod from Mekkelsen's also, they have been great. We bought it is Aug 0f 09. They have really been great. I have called several times while out camping and run into a snag and they quickly get you to a technician and they talk you right through the snag.
A tip, if you call for a tech, ask for Doug who is an excellent tech and also a fellow pod owner!

Leo's post mentions a service tech at Mekkelsen's with the name of Doug.  Just making clear that it ain't me.  < grin >

We just bought our second R-pod, a 2015  179, from Mekkelsen's. It was another great experience. We got( what I feel was) a good deal on it. We had a lengthy walk through with service tech Richard, who went over everything from A-z with us.
They hooked it up for us and off we went!!
I would recommend them very highly to anyone within  travel distance if you are looking to buy a pod! We dealt with salesman Pat, sales manager Clark, book keeper Kim and service technician Richard. We also dealt with a salesman Connor, who let us into a 2014 179 so we could take measurement of two occasions. They were all very pleasant to deal with and very helpful.
Through the last 5 year with our 171, we work closely with Service manager Kim and Part Manager Julieann .  Great place to deal with!!

Hi Everyone. My name is John. My wife Karen we live in the town of Marshfield two towns away from Mekkelsens. We bought a r177 from them in Oct of last year. The staff was top notch. We got a great deal on our train in. Richard the tech gave us the walk through. During the walk around a alarm kept beeping. At first we thought it was the smoke dector. Not that it was comming from the refrigerator. Richard never seeing this before had Doug look at it the next day. They told us that it was a bad sensor and had order a new one from FR. Yup new one came same problem. FR sent out a new Refrigerator instead. Problem sovle. The day Karen and I were to bring the 177 home We got a good six inches of snow. We could not get the camper home till late April due to the winter we had in VT plus we live on a very step dirt road.
The point is that Mekkelsen never charged us to keep our camper there over the winter. They winter proof it.Smile We went to pick it up and got another walk around with Richard no problem. It is nice to know that there are dealers who treat you the same way you want to be treated. Glad their so close. I would go there again and have suggested to friends to check out the Pod and the Great staff at Mekkelsens
We pull our 177 with a v6 toyota 4runner
