Greetings The lugs are 3/4 inch. buy a deep inpact socket and a long 1/2 inch drive handle. A small floor jack is what I pack along. A torque wrench is a good idea to have {1/2 inch drive) 90 to 100 pounds of torque. Check the torque after a couple of 100 miles

I’m not sure if using the torque wrench to remove lugs would damage it but if you use it, set the torque well above the specified torque (100) lbs. I can’t see how it could hurt it if you set it at lets say 150. |

My understanding is that if you are using a torque wrench to remove tight lug nuts, you run the risk of damaging the cogs inside and getting it out of calibration. A breaker bar is much better for this purpose since it does not need to be calibrated. Tightening a torque wrench to above the stated torque would not necessarily prevent getting it out of calibration.

You may be correct but they are designed to torque in both directions. So setting it higher shouldn’t hurt it if you don’t reach the set torque.

I stopped at Harbor Freight today and picked up a folding 4 way lug wrench; easy to pack and good to have in case. Not the quality of tool that I'd use all day/every day in a shop but perfectly adequate to live in my Pod toolkit and (hopefully) never get used. $10.99.

Let me know how that works on a 100 lb torque. You must be young:)

Harbor Freight is your friend here. If you ever had to break the torque off a 100 pd lug nut you'll be glad your bought a cheap four way lug wrench from them. Or better go buy a cheap breaker bar and torque wrench from them and while your at it get a cheap 3 ton bottle jack. Then go shop around at your local FLAP (friendly neighborhood auto parts) store for a cheap short extension and appropriate deep well socket, unless you can somehow find these cheaper at HF. You now have the perfect tire changing kit!
