Thanks to everyone for sharing their insights.  I guess I'll be removing the decals on the front of the trailer, because they look the worst, and I won't be replacing them.  The decals on the driver's side - I'll leave those on until they look bad.

I don't expect it would hold, most things with any kind of adhesive didn't hold up well while living in the upper peninsula of Michigan.  When mine go, as long as the warranty is gone, they will be gone permanently too.

Even after you get them off, you'll see a ghost in certain light conditions.

I've used De-Solv-It citrus solution to remove glue residue on lots of things- amazing stuff and non-toxic, can even be used on skin and hair.

Yes, all my replacement decals were from Forest River.

Did they install them for you or did you install them yourself?
The first two sets were replaced under warranty and installed by my dealer.  The third set, I did myself.

How did you remove the decals?
With a heat gun and a plastic scraper.  And patience.  It wasn't too difficult.  To clean up the glue residue, I used a lot of Goo Gone and paper towels.  It took about 4 hours to remove the decals and clean up the surface.

After our 2nd set failed (front and back, sides are still fine) I had our dealer remove ours.  Pics here: http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2007

We had our peeling decals on our 171 replaced under warranty, but it happened towards the end of the first year we bought it. They lasted about another year and we finally said the heck with it and took the decals off of the front. The rest seemed fine.
