SH,
I first saw them at Fort Hood during the early days of Hummers. Every unit had them, I suppose they were purchased with unit funds, they were pretty available. As far as battery switches, I use the big red key switch, mounted in a plastic electrical box, mounted on the tongue next to batt. I can turn it on/off and remove the key. |

I am using a Marinco BEP battery switch. Installation was eaxy. The hardest part was f\iguring out where to put it. There is a picture of it installed in my mods.

Interesting concept. I never saw one of these during my 26 years in the Army. It might have been something that was being evaluated by select units.

X1 to furpod, if you want to use a solar charger, look at Solargizers, the Army used them for years to maintain batts in the motorpool. Used to be they would give you a Solargizer when they issued the vehicle.

Unless it's going to sit for more then 6 months, if you use a cut-off switch, you won't need a maintainer of any kind.

Is anyone using a solar panel to maintain the charge on the battery's while there pod is being stored? I am planning on installing a battery switch so i am just looking at keeping the battery topped off not something to take care of house loads.
