When the camper is not being used the door should be left open. I think we all know this.
The tip is this. Use that tiny ice try to block open the freezer compartment. That will also keep the fridge door open. So if your parked at an angle the door will not close by itself. Terry |

The fridge in my fiver had a latch that would stop at about half inch before it closed all the way it worked great to hold it open and would not swing all over the place. I have not checked out my pod to see if it does the same thing, they are both dometic. Today is not the day for me to go out and look as we are getting 1 -6 inches of cold blowing snow.

That's a handy tip!
We stored our Pod for the winter and we did leave our fridge open...but I was worried the door would close. Ted said it was fine and not to worry. Next time I will use the little ice cube tray!
(cindy files this tip away for future use)

Yup, it'll be musty city by spring. Worse still if you leave it closed for a month between trips while it bakes in the humid summer sun.
In my popup we kept a sponge between the seal and the door frame - but the flip-down kitchen kept the door "closed". Not really an option here.

It works great. Put that little ice tray where the freezer door hinges and NOTHING closes. Just don't forget to remove it and close the door when moving.

My 177 has a pull out latch that locks the door open. It stays open about 3/4 of an inch.

Another tip for that ice tray is to use it under the wire rack. It fits. I also purchased some small trays from Campers World that fit underneath the rack. If we're on a long trip, I totally fill up the freezer with meat, so it's nice to use the space under the rack for ice cubes - even if they are small.

Welcome Gator, I'll have to look for that latch, I don't remember seeing it. The freezer compartment isn't really sealed well, I wouldn't worry about it. You could just pull it out.
