I plan on replacing the fenders on my Pod.  There are basically 2 reasons.

1.  I am going to add new rims and larger tires.

2.  I am going to add some type of bracket for attaching a gas grille to the fender.

Pictured is what I plan on getting.  It's called the Jeep Style fender.  It's made of diamond plate aluminum.  The top piece is 22" across.  The width is 10".  So the grille would be 10" from the Pod.  That should be enough distance to not be a worry about over heating the fiberglass.

I'm not sure when I'll do this mod but it will be done.  Another added benefit is the top of the fender would be a good spot to set a "cold one".LOL

Considering I have already crunched a fender, This replacement idea sounds pretty good. Why fix up the damaged one when a better one will do. Look forward to the mod.

Hi, Terry

I loved your plans for the fender upgrade. I am new to the site and couldn't find any pictures of your pod.  If you have put the fenders on I sure would like to see them.  Thanks for the links to find the fenders.

I am in the process of buying a 177 HRE and the fenders would help the off road look considerable.

Thanks again Craig

I sold my Jeep so I never did the mod.  Still a good idea though.

Looks like a nice mod.  However, if you grill on that stove, grease will likely stain the side of your Pod.  Just a suggestion.  Safe Travels.

Not only that but it might get the side of the Pod too hot.  I was thinking of some kind of bracket to put the grill out a little further from the Pod.

Or just a temporary "back splash" out of Alu or Steel, Lowes/HDsell them, we have one behind the stove at home.. could just hang it there with suction cups. My problem with cooking there is we use the dome nearly every trip.. would hate to overheat the dome above the stove..
