Another item for Forest River on this wish list: As an option, add a small inverter (under 300 watts) with a dedicated AC outlet inside, or at the very least run the heavy-gauge wiring inside to screw terminals so its easy to add your own inverter.

That would be good. I plan on adding a second battery for boondocking and having the inverter available would be nice.

Rather than the inverter, which would be nice, it might have been cheaper to install a 12v cigarette style power jack somewhere in the Pod...then you could pick your own inverter to use with the 12v outlet. Another thought might be to have a "power" station with both the 12v outlet, and a USB type charging point in the same location. Lotta small electronics use 5v USB charging...

Oh yes, we're always dealing with multiple chargers. Between our phones (which need USB plugs) and our laptops its often a spaghetti mess overnight. Providing a few USB outlets might help!

Has anyone installed a 12V? If so, could you please post it in the "mods" section for future reference. This would be something that would be on our to do list. Thanks.

Here's a (future) solution for adding USB ports to a standard outlet: http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/05/10-usb-power-outlet-leaves-no-plug-behind/ |

Wow they are really neat! I just pre ordered 3 so I will get them shipped as soon as they are released. It was just what I was looking for. Not bad for $10.00 each

Sounds like a good idea for a new thread in the Podmods section. |

Well these outlets are now due to ship second quarter of this year. Can't wait to see them and how they work.
