Wanted to pass on the name of a true sine wave inverter manufacturer that I've heard good things about (especially their XP series). http://exeltech.com/
I plan on buying the 600 watt model in the near future, for backup of my 6kw inverter/UPS at home and also for use on the road.

I really like it. I need to stop at HD on Monday anyway, now I need to add this to my list.

I bought one of these at Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Electrical-Cords-Cord-Management/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xhcZbm9c/R-100668923/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
Very handy in that it gives you three 110V outlets, 2 USB charging ports and surge protection for $20. Plus it's portable so I can use it indoors or out.

Well these outlets are now due to ship second quarter of this year. Can't wait to see them and how they work.

Sounds like a good idea for a new thread in the Podmods section. |

Wow they are really neat! I just pre ordered 3 so I will get them shipped as soon as they are released. It was just what I was looking for. Not bad for $10.00 each

Here's a (future) solution for adding USB ports to a standard outlet: http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/05/10-usb-power-outlet-leaves-no-plug-behind/ |

Has anyone installed a 12V? If so, could you please post it in the "mods" section for future reference. This would be something that would be on our to do list. Thanks.

Oh yes, we're always dealing with multiple chargers. Between our phones (which need USB plugs) and our laptops its often a spaghetti mess overnight. Providing a few USB outlets might help!
