hi everyone,

i'm trying to locate the 2nd low point drain, i understand there is one for the fresh water tank but where is the other?

The  'low point' drains are not the drain for the fresh water tank.  The drain for the water tank is on the bottom of the tank and has a fairly large diameter end cap.  The low point drains are smaller diameter pipes with 'white' caps that extend out of the bottom of the floor. They are connected to interior pipes. You may have to slide under the Pod to find them.  I was lucky on my Pod...the drains are located within an arm reach from the side of the Pod.

When you replace your anode rod put a couple of wraps of teflon plumbers tape on the threads.  It really helps when you want to remove the rod.

When draining the water heater though the anode rod, i noticed a slimy yucky solution sitting at the bottom.  There were a lot of small white balls of this slime, and the anode was excessively eroded near the nut where most of it seem to have congregated.  We had never used the water heater, but had the valves ON during the season (i.e. not in by-pass mode).  Thinking about keeping the water heater in by-pass mode all the time. Any thoughts?

Do you remove the teflon tape next spring when you de-winterize and fill the hot water tank again?

Put on fresh tape each time, the old tape will kind of self destruct when you remove the rod..

If you are storing the pod for the winter I recommend putting bounce dryer sheets in and around it. It keeps the rodents away. Several years ago I didnt do it and everything inside was destroyed. I havent had a problem since.
