Good morning! This is literally the first time I have ever posted on a blog!! Whoo hoo!  I have a 2016, model 180 and my husband and I love it. We will be traveling across country in August and look forward to it. The only problem we are having is the single step on the pod. We really need a double step. We looked into buying an additional adjustable step to put on the ground but that will not work as the main problem is exiting the camper to the step.

If anyone has put a double step on their pod, PLEASE let me know where you bought the steps, what item # it is or model number. I would love to hear from you!  Thank you so much!!

This is the one we ordered from Camping World:

Item No. Description Price Ea. Qty. Ext. Cost Discount Total
74960 Manual Double Step $86.99 1 $86.99 - $0.00 $86.99

If you look at my mods, you will see it installed. I needed to make two shims since the brackets for the single step were spaced 1/2" wider than the frame for the double steps. I also had to notch out the back of the frame so that it would sit back far enough.

I installed the same one as our second set of steps after the first set met with a tall curb and essentially crumpled. The crumpled unit was the Flexco 24" double step, which I'd advise against because it's weak in the area where the slide-out slot for the upper step is.

I didn't use shims with the Lippert because the brackets welded to the frame were already pretty bent up from the mishap. I had to notch them very little to get them to fit. The mounting holes don't quite line up, so I had to enlarge the rear hole on each side.

Thank you!  We have been camping for 43 years and finally decided to down size the camper. We love it!!
