I started camping in a tent with my parents in 1960 when I was 10 .  Later, my parents had a pop up for our family of 4.  I will never forget a trip to Florida in 1966 with the pop up because I had just turned 16 and my dad let me drive and tow the pop up on that trip.  That really made me feel good. so, I guess I can honestly say that I have been towing a camper since 1966-50 years this summer!!

Gotta have those tire chains with wheels that narrow!

I started camping in a popup in 1986.

Pictures or it doesn't count!

I'm waiting for someone to post some old camping pics - sporting bell bottoms and "big hair"!

My Family started with a popup trailer, when I was 10.  Melissa and I  started out camping in a flagstaff popup trailer. We are now on our second rpod.

Quick poll..........

All of those who have owned or camped in a popup, please raise your hands.

As I suspected - just about everyone. When fishing out the "Vega" picture, a couple of old popup pics were in the pile.

I'm not sure when or where this was taken. It is a 1979(?) Coleman Gettysburg. I may be a little off on the year. I purchased it used and kept it for several years.

My first popup, an Apache, had no amenities and was just a place to sleep. The G'burg was packed with luxurious amenities - a 2 burner stove and on-board water (10 gal., I think).

Well, the stove was never used. The water was filled once, just to see. I decided it was more trouble than it was worth. By the time I got any water at all out of the hand pump faucet, I was too tired to care about it. So, it became just a place to sleep.
