Hello,   We are new to this group.  have been camping in fiberglass eggs for several years.    love the look of the pod.   ours has a couch in back and u dinette.
We are open to ideas, suggestions, things to look for etc.
What about awnings/tarps, etc.   Any of you used the CLAM?
Would love to get together with some of you.  Live near Chattanooga in ga.  Also do whitewater paddling!

Thanks,  Sandra and Bruce

Hello Sandra and Bruce,
Welcome  to the Pod world!
We also have a 173 and love it.  It has treated us well over the last 5 years with many miles of good  service and fun times.  We have done a lot of modifications to make it more user friendly for us.  Look at some of them on our mod page located in our signature.

Feel free to ask questions on the forum.. This is a great group of dedicated pod owners with many years of experience.  We all try to be respectful and helpful.  Look through the many pages of posts and get lots of ideas and answers.

I hope you enjoy your 173 as much as we have.  we are also whitewater and flatwater paddlers

Congratulations and welcome to the group!

I am a former owner of a 2010 RP173. Frankly, I can't say anything bad about it. I had no significant problems and it did what it was supposed to do.

As far as awnings, etc., a number of folks like the "EZ Up" folding canopies. As far as suggestions - don't run the fridge on 12 volts. Even when driving, with the tow vehicle charging, it has a tough time keeping up with the amp draw of the fridge. If a 120 volt hook up is not available then, use propane. Same for when driving - propane.
